We kicked it off Saturday with a small Birthday party at home where we invited our family and a few friends to join in our celebrations. Trevor had to work but got home in time to finish our deck handrails (which I've waited 8 years for) and fire up the grill. We got Charlee a trampoline so some of our guests pitched in to help put it together. All of us are really enjoying it! We ended the night at Cheddar's with our friends Lindsay and Reighlyn.
Sunday we let Charlee get her beauty rest and headed over to Smithville lake around 10am. My parents were camping there with some family friends. The kids played in the hose and then we decided to go swimming. Charlee played hard all day and was beat. She fell asleep on the way home around 5pm and I tried to wake her up 4 different times. She finally woke up at 7pm and ate some supper with Trevor while they counted out his spare change. The four of us sang her Happy Birthday and let her have another cupcake from her party. I'm not going to lie, I got a little choked up. I was watching her face as we sang to her and her beautiful smile just made me realize that this won't last forever. Thinking about my kids growing up just really tugs on my heart strings!
She ended up staying up until almost 11pm... I'm not sure if it was because of the nap, the sugar rush or a combination of both. Charlee brings our whole family so much joy! She is a little spit fire with an attitude of her own. I'm so lucky to be her mom and I'm sure that she will move mountains in life. Happy 3rd Birthday Baby!
